Moreover on January the 2nd, the Italian Patent (by Luigi Massa and Ivan Marenda) for using TensaSlide inside bearings and antiseismic devices was approved! More informations? We are extremely proud to announce that TENSA PT system is the first officially approved by Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) under the new 2017 Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction. Tensa America 19AMTS bonded PT system is the first officially introduced on January 24th 2018 in the “Approved Post-Tensioning System Vendor List” released by FDOT Structures Design Office. This achievement is a powerful proof of the performance and development of Tensa PT system which is now ready and available to the Florida and USA market. Congratulations to the Technical Department working group who put together a huge effort to deal with a long testing and approval process that is not yet over!

📣Successful completion of fatigue and tensile test and fatigue and leak test over Tensa 4 strands hanger system for Pensacola Bay Bridge project! 🇺🇸🛣 Tensa has brilliantly completed the testing program for assessment of the 4 strands hanger system for the Pensacola Bay Bridge project in Florida (USA). Fatigue + tensile test and fatigue + leak test in accordance with PTI DC45.1-12 recommendations have been positively completed in the Structural Engineering Laboratory (GIMED) of the Politecnico of Milan (Italy). Tests have been required to assess the performance of the system that will be installed in the Pensacola Bay Bridge project, located in Pensacola, Florida, under the FDOT Authority. Cables for this project are designed to use galvanized, waxed and hdpe coated strand: this will be a new feature for US bridges and has been specifically requested by FDOT. Tensa America will be responsible for the supply and installation of the system in middle 2018.

Successful completion of fatigue and tensile test over 127 strands Tensa stay cable system 🎯 We have positively completed a fatigue and tensile test according to FIB bulletin 30 Recommendations over a 127TSR stay cable system in the CTL laboratory of Chicago. Such brilliant result extends TENSA range of stay cables tested sizes, reaching the capacity of more than 35 MN. A combination between architectural aesthetic with engineering function. The New Calatrava Bridge in Cosenza is a masterpiece of engineering. In the back, the impressive pylon (that rises to a height of 87 m) is supported by two 169 strand stay cables, supplied by TENSA.

On the 10th of August 2017, the new cable-stayed bridge has been officially opened in Basra. The new 1,5-kilometres-long bridge crosses Shatt El Arab river in Southern Iraq and consists of a central cable-stayed bridge and two approach viaducts. The centre span reaches 150 meters of height and the two main towers rise 40 meters from the top of the deck, supporting 28 stay cables.
